White Star, Black Star, What Gives?

There is an opposite to all things.

This idea was first brought to my attention in 1965 with the release of a Byrds’ tune called, “Turn, Turn, Turn”. I was surprised to learn that the song had its roots in the Bible, specifically Ecclesiastes.

 

 

I’m sure you all know the passage I’m speaking of:

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace. (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8.)

To take this a step further, we have light and dark.

We know light expands or we wouldn’t be able to see it. I believe darkness has the opposite effect; it has a great “pulling” power, such as the so-called “black holes” scientists now say are at the center of every galaxy.

Now, I don’t believe for a moment there is any such thing as a black “hole”, but I do believe there are black stars.

I believe scientists mistake black holes for black stars. One does not go through a black hole (or star) to obtain another universe, as many speculate. However, I do believe there is an immense black star at the center of every galaxy, not a black hole.

I also believe there is an immense “white” star at the center of every galaxy, too huge to even imagine. I believe these white and black stars offset each other, due to the opposition-in-all-things effect. I also believe them to be in a binary relationship.

You’ll notice that the vast majority of galaxies have two “arms”. I suspect this arrangement has something to do with the two central stars, although I don’t have any ideas as to why this might be so, other than the fact that there are two of each.

I suspect the white star is somewhat responsible for the expansion of a galaxy and the black star is responsible for keeping it from flying off into space. You see, even though everything has its opposite, there is order in all things.

Of course, there are other types of galaxies, such as star clusters and ring galaxies. I speculate they might be, perhaps, in some sort of phase in the creation of a galaxy.

But to get back to Ecclesiastes, let us be grateful there is an opposition in all things. If there were not, life would get pretty dull.

Everyone imagines that life in the Garden of Eden was idyllic—at least, before the forbidden fruit incident.

But think about it. Like any innocent children, Adam and Eve didn’t know the difference between right and wrong, good or bad. They just did what they were told.

Because there was no opposition, there wasn’t anything else to do. And there could be no real joy.

So, along comes the serpent, or whatever it was, and offered them something else to do. And like any other innocent children who didn’t know any better, it wasn’t hard to convince them to try something new.

It was only after succumbing to this opposition, they found that life had more to offer than walking around the garden, which, by the way, basically took care of itself.

Of course, the new life had its hardships, too. They now had to work for a living and labor hard in giving birth. But because they were now acquainted with sorrow, they could then experience joy.

Yes, there’s evil and horror in the world, both caused by man and nature. But we cannot avoid it because there must be an opposition in all things. It’s an eternal law. We could not grow otherwise.

No one likes to see bad things happen, and it happens all around us every day. And to read or listen to the news, one would think that’s all there was. Nevertheless, it’s all part of life’s experience—the bad with the good.

Mankind has been given free will as our gift from God. What we do with our free will is our gift back to God.

If it were otherwise, we’d all be robots. And that just wouldn’t be cool.
